i am here.

and it's hot, damn hot. it seems surreal i was my sleeping bag-style winter coat on sunday.
tamarindo is interesting. i'm here for two days. it's definitely more developed than where i've been, i.e. there's a Subway. and there are older people around, like my parents age...i never really noticed last time but i don't think anyone was older than 40 in montezuma/mal pais.
i am grateful to be here.

countdown.

omg, the car is coming in less than two hours, i wanna jump up and down and cry at the same time. i have never been more technically prepared but so unprepared for what will come.

but i had the best time a girl can ask for leading up to this. god damn, i love my friends.

plans change.

i had an idea of how my arrival in costa rica would play out but now i'm spending the first few days in nicaragua.

not planning can be a skill for some people (like me) to learn. but this looks like a pretty sweet change in plans. thank you mara. :)

it felt like it snowed just for me today.

there was a little girl.

There was a little girl
by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

There was a little girl,
Who had a little curl,
Right in the
middle
of her forehead.
When she was good,
She was very good indeed,
But
when she was bad she was horrid.

this is a poem my mom recited to me when I was little. and since i let my curls reappear after my last trip to costa rica, i thought it would a be a good start and name for this blog.
